Post your Top Ten Tips for Holding Family Dinners Together

I am astounded by the huge impact family dinner time can and will have on our world! I have researched numerous studies showing the benefits of this simple practice. Here is an article that simply states some of the benefits, including:

  • Everyone eats healthier meals.
  • Kids are less likely to become overweight or obese.
  • Kids more likely to stay away from all types of drugs (including alcohol).
  • School grades will be better.
  • You and your kids will talk more, and so you'll be more likely to hear about a serious problem.
  • Kids will feel like you're proud of them.
  • There will be less stress and tension at home.
In addition, there are even benefits for businesses and their bottom line as seen in this University Study.

Sarah Jane Savin' the World???

Okay, really. I know I can't save the world. But if you know me, you know it has been one of my greatest dreams--I just want to have a huge impact in the world for good. I am still trying to make the career move from Social Worker to Philanthropist.

As I thought about making a website to post all of my interests, dreams, and objectives, I thought almost everything could fit under the heading of Saving the World. (you know, health and wellness, personal development, investing in African economies, promoting family dinners together, sending parents on missions, helping kids be good, enjoying life, stopping heart disease, publishing my books, visiting Estonia, speaking to thousands, finishing my artwork, playing the piano, getting my two year old to brush his teeth, becoming a millionaire, helping my children to see the world and serve the world, and so forth)

That's me above, with my climbing gear ready to do some world savin'.

So, here we are. Welcome to my new blog. I hope you have fun. I hope I have fun. Even if we don't save the world... today.
